...*facepalm*  yeah, this is a Monster High AU. Sorry!
(but I had to watch at least one episode of that, ok? There's a DracuLaura there. I couln't just ignore that)

So yeah, this is an AU about a school for monsters.

Dick hasn't been a vampire for that long, actually. Just about 5 years or so.
He spent all his years as a human thriving in the sun, playing outside, when he was younger.
So it was normal, that he still forgot to bring his umbrella outside, or to actually stay in the shadows.
He was lucky he had Bruce, Alfred and even Wally to remind him. He would have some nasty burns otherwise.

He should be thankfull that Gotham is such a gloomy city, too. So he doesn't have to actually stay indoors all day and walk out only during the night.
That would make going to school quite difficult.
It was cool that the headmaster still made sure that all the windows in the building were tinted, and all the vampires were excused from school during those rare, really sunny days.
He still had to learn at home then, of course, but it's good that they didn't actually expect all of them to walk to school in the burning sun.

There were various rules concerning various creatures attending the school.
For example his friend Kaldur and all other water creatures, could leave the class at any time, if they needed to hydrate themselves.
Or his best friend Wally, and every other werewolf, that got two special meals, filled with meat every month, just before and day after the full moon.

It just so happened that the 'meat day' as it was called here, was today.
__

Dick took out his lunch, smiling at the cup with little bats drawn on them. he opened it and took a deep breath. Alfred always prepared the best meals.
He wanted to take a swig right now, but decided to wait for Wally first. His friend was still in the queue, waiting for his lunch. Dick much preferred home food than the cafeteria one. He wasn't sure the 'blood' that they served here, had anything to do with actual blood.

Wally walked over, his plate filled with meat, some of it raw, and he chuckled at his paler friend.
'You look like someone stuck garlic up your nose' he joked 'thinking about cafeteria food again?'
Dick rolled his eyes at the garlic quip. Stupid stereotypes.
Wally placed a raw, bloody steak in front of him 'help yourself' he said, already digging into his own food.
And then it happened.
There was a werewolf jock, sitting at the next table, with his own pile of meat.
He had just started eating, as did Wally, and their eyes met.
Dick blinked, startled at the low growl that the jock let out.
This one particular guy always seemed nice and enthusiastic. He was never a bully, as far as Dick knew.
Just as he opened his mouth to say something, Wally growled back.
what.
He looked at his best friend.
His ears were lowered and his back was tense.
'Wally?' no reaction. Both of them seemed to be focused on their staring contest.
He carefully laid his hand on Wally's arm.
The green eyes snapped to his shade covered ones, and for a moment it seemed like the redhead didn't even recognize him.
Then he seemed to snap out of, whatever that was, and he blinked at him, surprized, before glancing at the jock again.
He too, was more like himself again, and looked just as put out as Wally did.
The jock gave him an apologetic look and Wally nodded, accepting.
They avoided looking at each other and continued eating.

When asked about it, Wally didn't really know what to say, so Dick dropped it.
He thought that was just a one time thing.
...

But then it happened again.
They were walking down the corridor, when they suddenly saw that one very quiet werewolf girl, growling at some other werewolf guy.
and again.
During the class, their usually easy going IT teacher, seemed really unfocused and easily iritated.
and again.
Some guys almost got into a fight during the PE lesson.

By the end of the day, everyone was on edge. Even the non werewolves notice the change of air, and all students were nervously shifting around in their seats.
Dick noticed that Wally was twitching and squirming more then normal.

Something was coming. Something bad.

__

Vampires didn't sleep during the night, so Dick was wide awake, when he first heard the howling.
It should not have been anything unusual. The pack often howled during the full moon, to comunicate with each other.
But this one was different.
Usually, every pack member, howled in sync with the rest. They made it sound magical.
This time it was horrible. The sound made Dick shudder. It was angry, aggressive, wild .

When he looked out the window, he couldn't help but blink.
The moon was bloody red.
How? Why? Nobody said it anything about this full moon being special.
Wally probably knew more about atmosphere and space, so he could probably explain the color to him.
He would ask him tommorow.

The howls of anger turned into ones full of pain.
He could hear the growls and barks and the sound of fighting coming from the forest surrounding his house.
There was nothing he could do though. No one was allowed out during the full moons, as a precaution.
The Gotham's pack was usually very peaceful and well behaved, but the city decided to give that one night in the month entirely for them anyway. They could do whatever they pleased, without having to worry about running over someone who decided to take a walk in the middle of the night.
There never was any accident before. The pack's Alfa was a great leader and she had authority and respect of every member.

The sounds got louder and louder. The fighting getting more intense.
Dick went downstairs and spent the rest of the night with Bruce and Alfred, trying and failling not to worry.

__

First thing in the morning, Dick went out, intending to visit Wally at his house.
In his hurry, he would have forgot the umbrella - again - if it weren't for Alfred reminding him.

When he walked down the road, to the area that his friend lived in, he came to a horrific view.
The street was covered in blood and fur. There were broken lamposts and mailboxes and tarmac was covered in scratch marks. This was not a mere scruffle.
He grimaced at the smell. Vampires didn't like werewolves' blood.
He saw various ambulances parked around, with healers and doctors walking around, entering houses.
He quickened his pace.
When he finally got over to his friend's house, he almost got hit by the door, as they swung open and a ghoul nurse walked out.
She was talking with Iris West Allen - Wally's aunt.
'I'm really sorry that I can't take them with me to the hospital' the slurred out 'But we have so many patients after last night, that there is no place left. I did all I could.' She seemed apologetic, but Iris waved her off.
'I perfectly understand' the red headed woman said. 'I'll take good care of them from now on. Thank you for your help'
The ghould lady had to leave then, since there were many more houses she had to get to.
Iris noticed Dick and invited him in. She was a reporter and a powerfull wind creature, and Dick held a great respect for her. Living with two werewolves in the same house couldn't be easy.
She showed him the way to the living room, before departing to the kitchen, for some clean rugs and food.
Dick found both Wally and his Uncle Barry, laying on the couch, that has been spread out, so it worked more as a bed.
They were both marred with scratches and bruises, with bandages and casts covering arms and legs, respectively.
Wally cracked his eye open, when he walked in and sent him a shaky smile.
He told him about last night, with a raspy voice. How something was wrong and they were all so so angry.
They fought each other and a lot of them got badly hurt. No one died, but a lot of them will be out of commision for a long while, even with their quick healing.
None of them knew what exactly happened or why. Wally seemed really uneasy about that.
Dick didn't know what to do, so he just focuse on helping his firend sit up and eat something.
He hoped that Bruce wouldn't mind that he skipped school that day.

__

The tension beetween the werevolves was so thick, it could be cut with a knife.
It was not that they were angry at each other. They were all just so uncomfortable, and apologetic and couldn't really look each other in the eyes.
Their IT teacher showed up, with his arm broken and his face badly swollen and actually apologized to the whole class, for hurting anyone during that night.
Dick saw various people apologizing during the first day, and Wally was no exception saying sorry and accepting them from various people, as he struggled to move around the school with his crutches .
What was interesting though, was that some of them thanked each other too.
Wally  explained that in their moments of clarity, they tried to drag the fallen werewolves away from the main fight, and actually protected each other whenever they could.

Eventually everything went back to normal, but there was feeling of dread as the date of the next full moon was nearing.

Dick and Wally tried to make their own investigation, in the whole Bloody Moon situation.
They were under the pressure of time though.
They hoped someone would find the answer. If not them, then Bruce or maybe even the police.
